About Southdowns Builders
We are specialists in all forms of construction, building and groundwork and provide the complete
build process from groundwork to final completion of the construction.
Southdowns Builders Ltd was established in 2002 and has since built an enviable reputation in the area for quality work and fair prices. Robert Mitchell (Mitch) is the Director and very much the hands-on leader of the team, all of whom hold Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards for their respective skills. Mitch is highly qualified, holding mutiple CSCS cards and other qualifications including for leadwork - see below.
The Construction Industry Training Board is the foundation trainer of our work force and the issuer of CSCS cards.
Our projects range from the corporate, detached houses, historical and heritage buildings that are usually grade listed, as well as cottages and extensions. We are a friendly and reliable company who take great pride in the reputation we have built up over the years. Dependable, high quality work and personal attention to every customer’s requirements are the cornerstones of our service. We take pride in being regarded as "one of the best builders in the area". Your Quality Guarantee
All our work comes with an "evergreen" guarantee.
If a problem arises with our workmanship at any time after completion we will come back to fix it.
Our Process
While every project is unique there are certain steps that are required to ensure a clearly defined scope of work, a smooth build and a successful outcome for you, our client.
Preconstruction Design
A highly iterative process between client and ourselves with specialist advice if required, often a Structural Engineer.
This step sets the final design.
Design & Construction Estimate
Our Quantity Surveyor prepares a detailed estimate of costs; see example. This ensures transparency and forms a firm base plan should changes be required during construction.
On-Site Consultations
All projects are personally supervised by Mitch. Regular consultation with the client ensures that the inevitable issues that occur with all builds are resolved quickly and amicably.
The Finishing
Touches
Unfinished snagging is an endemic problem with some builders. We take great care to see that all snags arising are resolved to the satisfaction of our client.
